In questi giorni FCA ha incontrato il primo ministro serbo Ana Brnabic al fine di chiarire quelle che saranno le mosse future dell'azienda per lo stabilimento di Kragujevac.

I media Serbi riportano la notizia che FCA è intenzionata a continuare ad investire nel sito di produzione di Kragujevac che diventerebbe un fulcro della gamma Fiat. In Serbia viene prodotta la Fiat 500L, un modello che resterà sul mercato anche in futuro.

A potenziare la gamma della Fiat 500L sarà una variante ibrida. Il modello avrà una versione dotata di un sistema mild hybrid da 12V, una soluzione sempre più diffusa tra i modelli compatti che permette di sfruttare i vantaggi dell'elettrificazione senza dover fare i conti con un incremento eccessivo dei costi di produzione. Lo stesso motore arriva anche su 500X. FCA abbandonerà il diesel entro il 2021.

In Serbia sarebbe destinato anche un nuovo crossover di dimensioni inferiori rispetto alla 500X. Il progetto condividerebbe la stessa piattaforma della 500L presentandosi con un look da SUV. Quel che è certo è che si tratta di un modello a marchio Fiat, ma non è chiaro se farà parte della famiglia 500 o della famiglia Panda.

Del modello se ne parlò già qualche mese fa e l'indiscrezione fu ripresa anche da Quattroruote. L'incontro di questi giorni fa sperare che finalmente i tempi siano maturi per portare avanti questo progetto.
